Ever wondered what shades look best for your eye color? These days I certainly look around for inspirations. To be honest I was never an eye shadow kinda girl, but lately with trying out new eye shadow palettes I have started to love playing with colors on my eye lids. Can I be really honest? Youtube tutorials are the culprit 🙂
One thing I have found out is, brown colored eyes look stunning with green eye shadow. I recently ordered some goodies from colorpop cosmetics to India directly from their website. One stack that I ordered was the Super shock shadow (Studio 1400) in which the shade Donna looked so stunning that I had to try it out. It’s cool toned pearlised eyeshadow and boy it’s highly pigmented. You will see it in my video how the shade pops on my eyelid.
I created a green smokey eye using the Donna shade along with huda beauty rose gold palette. Instead of a black base, I paired this beautiful green color with brown shades. This look is perfect for a night time glam. See how I turn drab to fab.
The products that I used:
@lorealmakeup base magique primer
@nyxcosmetics_in eyeshadow base
@maccosmetics studio fix fluid foundation
@nyxcosmetics_in micro brow pencil
@benefitindia hoola bronzer
@hudabeauty huda beauty rose gold palette

@maybelline crazy for coffee lipstick

Let’s talk about all about sunscreen today. First thing first, its a must to apply sunscreen every day. Sunscreen for oily skin is as important as it is for dry skin or normal skin. Often times oily skin people skip either moisturizer or sunscreen thinking they don’t need the added layer of lotion or cream on their oily skin. Well, that is a big no-no when it comes to skincare. Every one needs to hydrate their skin and use an SPF protection.
No matter what your skin type is, you need to apply sunscreen to protect yourself from damaging your skin due to harmful sun rays. Here is a list of reasons why Sunscreen is important:
- Prevents premature aging
- Prevents tanning
- Protects from UV rays
- Protects against sunburn
- Reduces chance of skin cancer
- Prevents dark spots, age spots, brown spots caused by sun
I have been loving suncote gel sunscreen for past couple of years. I was introduced to this amazing sunscreen by my dermatologists and I have not looked back. This suncreen is the best sunscreen for acne prone skin like mine. Also, it is one of the best sunscreen for oily skin. I have recommended this sunscreen to so many of my friends when they were on a hunt for a great sunscreen. This light weight sunscreen from suncote leaves no white cast which is a major plus in my opinion.
Pros of Sunconte gel:
- It is a Gel based sunscreen hence it does not feel heavy on the skin.
- It is a translucent gel and leaves no white cast.
- Does not cause pimples/ breakouts.
- Prescribed by dermatologists.
- Great for acne prone or sensitive skin.
- SPF of 30 which is great for Indian weather.

There is one feature we all love to enhance when it comes to makeup. If you notice Kareena Kapoor loves to enhance her eyes with lots of kohl pencil and so does Alia bhat, Kajol, Anushka sharma and so on. For me personally I love a good mascara over kohl pencil any day, which is why I love to have a good mascara handy in my makeup bag always.
One of the best thing one can invest in is a Mascara, if one is a makeup-beginner. A mascara can bring a huge difference to the way your eyes look. I am not a pro at putting on false lashes so a mascara is what I depend on, heavily. One such mascara for me is my current favorite drugstore mascara : Maybelline New York Volum’ Express Falsies Mascara – Waterproof. Listing down the pro & cons of this mascara:
✨ It is one of the best drugstore mascara at the moment for me.
✨This mascara is great for an everyday use and makes a huge difference in how your lashes look.
✨It’s #waterproof hence perfect for the rainy season and for times when your eyes get watery. It wont make you look like a raccoon.
✨It also has non-waterproof variant. ✨Smudge proof. It doesn’t not budge at all once dry.
✨Curls up lashes that stays curled throughout the day. Use cutler if you have naturally straight lashes.
✨Doesn’t not clump if applied carefully ie you will have to clean the wand with tissue to ensure it doesn’t take extra product on
✨Get it when on sale, it turns to be a great buy. Priced 500/-
✨It’s on sale right now on Amazon if you want to grab it:
See it for yourself how it works on my lashes.
So my current favorite mascara has to be Maybelline New York Volum’ Express Falsies Mascara – Waterproof, which one is yours?
There is a debate that keeps on going on at work and home. “Monsoon is here to stay. Oh wait no, it’s gone. Ah! you spoke too soon. It’s back ” Don’t know what the plan is for monsoon, but I do know, a girl needs to change her makeup routine for this season.
I made a video about my way of dealing with monsoon in terms of my makeup routine. There is a new trick that I tried in this video and I have been doing it for few days, it is “Powder before foundation” routine. This trick of applying powder before foundation is great for oily skin girls. If you apply powder before foundation
- your foundation applies matte
- your face tends to be less oily throughout the day
- your foundation gets a smoother surface to work with since the translucent powder kind of works like a primer by filling the pores.
In this video you would see that it’s an easy makeup look perfect for an everyday office look or college look.
I hope you enjoy this video.

Foundation is literally the ‘foundation’ for a good makeup base. For this very reason a girl goes on a hunt to find the perfect foundation shade and, mind you, the struggle is real. One also needs to keep in mind that to find the right foundation shade for Indian skin tone is not easy.
Most of the international brands cater to pale to dark skin tones and hardly for olive/brown skin tones. Yet, there are some brands that lay out colors for almost all types of skin tones. One such brand is Maybelline. Maybelline is a drugstore brand that creates amazing products which of course are affordable.
So if you are searching for an amazing affordable foundation for Indian skin tone, reach out for Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. This drugstore product will steal your heart with one application itself. I have been using the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation for a long time now and this is my third bottle. Fit me range clearly has great products for Indian skin tones.
The Maybelline Fit Me foundation claims:
Fit Me Matte + Poreless from Maybelline New York goes beyond skin tone matching to fit the unique texture issues of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural skin fit. While some foundations can exaggerate pores and oily skin, only the FitMe Matte+ pore-minimizing foundation contains genius blurring micro-powders that erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish.
- Tone + texture-fitting foundation for the ultimate natural fit.
- This lightweight foundation mattifies and refines pores and leaves a natural, seamless finish.
- Dermatologist and allergy tested.
- Does not clog pores. Oil-free.
- Mattifying liquid formula ideal for normal to oily skin.
My shade for Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is 322 Warm Honey , you can buy it here : http://amzn.to/2slXXdp
322 Warm Honey is just a perfect shade for me, if anyone is wondering I am a NC 42-44 in Mac fluid foundation.
If you watch my video review you would notice I used a brush which I am totally in love with. You should totally check them out since they are an affordable brush set. The brushes are Cosmix Stores ™ Set of 10 and you can get it from
So tell me, Have you tried this foundation?
Ever happened that you are waiting for a friend at the mall and you have some time to kill? I’m pretty sure, it has happened multiple times, right? During such times, you are around Sephora and you think of checking new stuff out there and eventually end up buying *stuff* you really don’t need. Well, that has happened with me multiple times (some times I regret some times I don’t)
On one such occasion of waiting for a friend I ended up getting myself a Sephora Green Tea Mask. I saw it sitting pretty among other sheet masks in Sephora (they have a good collection of sheet masks) When I read Green Tea , my hands automatically grabbed it because its said “Green Tea” . It’s because green tea is up there when it comes to skincare and any acne prone person would give it it’s due credit.
I have seen zillion of videos and read umpteen blog posts about sheet masks, was always intrigued but never tried it. So this Sephora Green Tea Mask became my first ever sheet mask. Since it was my first try I wanted to do a First Impressions video, which also was my first ever first impressions ( a lot of firsts)
Sephora Green Tea Sheet Mask – Pac Man version 😉
It was a fun thing to do, especially for summer nights a sheet mask seems a great pampering activity. I hope you would check out the video to know about my first impressions of this mask.
Have you tried any Sephora sheet masks?
A freshly washed hair can make a girl’s Monday blues go away in jiffy. The world of beauty keeps on evolving every year with new trends, products and techniques. One such product that was introduced into the haircare world, sometime back, is Dry Shampoo which by far should be awarded as one of the best thought product.
A dry shampoo is heaven sent for anyone who had to step out of the house with greasy hair just because there was not enough time to wash them. One such dry shampoo that I laid my hands on is the Batiste Dry Shampoo Instant Hair Refresh Clean & Classic Original.
I bought this dry shampoo a while back and it is still lasting me since I use it only on days when I can’t wash my hair. I made a video about this product and thought I should post it on my blog too.
You can buy it from Nykaa:
Hope enjoyed my review 🙂
With the official launch of NYX Cosmetics in India, I was bound to buy some stuff from them. You must have checked out my last post where I gave you a glimpse of the few the products that I bought. With NYX Brights Ultimate Shadow Palette I created a Blue Sea Green eye makeup look.
The palette has such amazing bright shades that I just couldn’t resist. Once I received the palette I went ahead and swatched the shades to see how pigmented it was. To be honest, the pigmentation is not that great, however, the intensity of the shades started to pop out once I used the primer in the beginning and also the setting spray adds to the colors.
So below are the colors that come in this NYX Brights Ultimate Shadow Palette. You can see such vibrant colors, clearly a palette which will help in creating exotic bright looks.
With this palette I create a blue-sea green eye makeup and these are some of the shots:
To see how I created this look, have a look at my video on this look.
I hope you enjoyed watching me create this look and please do subscribe 🙂
Have you used this palette before? What are your thought on it?
Nykaa.com is a makeup lovers favorite website, at least I can vouch for that. It is one of the best websites to shop for makeup, skincare and haircare. You can find almost all beauty brands on Nykaa and go bonkers over shopping from them.
I have bought products from Nykaa frequently and I thought it will be great for me to start sharing all of my purchases from the website. So check out my video on few of my buys.

Yet another foundation finds a spot in my collection and this time it is the Clinque’s Anti-blemish solutions.
While strolling at Sephora’s Clinique counter I was approached by their sales assistant , which I usually dislike since I don’t like someone after me to buy just because they have to reach their target. However, this time the girl was unusually pleasant as she waited for me to ask her rather than her blabber. So I asked her if she could recommend a foundation for oily-acne prone skin to which she responded by taking me to the anti-blemish solution collection. After trying out different shades, I picked up Fresh Deep Neutral #17.
So after using this foundation for some time I have come down to these observations:
- Packaging is nothing fancy for an expensive foundation. It is sturdy since is a plastic bottle so you don’t need to worry if it falls.
- Has a nozzle which makes it hygienic and easy to use.
- It is easily blend-able and gives medium coverage which is build-able.
- The shade matches my skin tone, however, I do feel the moment I apply it I look a bit orange-ish which eventually oxidizes and I don’t look oompa-lumpa anymore.
- It helps to control my oil, but surely not a magic potion which stops it.
- Doesn’t feel heavy rather feels light & natural.
- Since it has salicylic acid it does help in diminishing existing blemishes as well as stop new from forming.
- I do need to set the foundation with a powder to lock it in else it would melt in the Delhi heat.
- Treats Blemishes since has salicylic acid
- Oil free foundation.
- Light weight
- Expensive for a 30 ml bottle.
- No spf
It retails for Rs Rs 2450/- for 30 ml bottle.
So all in all I do like the product, mainly because it helps to fight blemishes. To check out a demo do watch my youtube channel.
Have you used this foundation? What are your thoughts?
