Green Smokey Eye Makeup

Ever wondered what shades look best for your eye color? These days I certainly look around for inspirations. To be honest I was never an eye shadow kinda girl, but lately with trying out new eye shadow palettes¬† I have started to love playing with colors on my eye lids. Can I be really honest? Youtube tutorials are the culprit ūüôā

One thing I have found out is, brown colored eyes look stunning with green eye shadow. I recently ordered some goodies from colorpop cosmetics to India directly from their website. One stack that I ordered was the Super shock shadow (Studio 1400) in which the shade Donna looked so stunning that I had to try it out. It’s cool toned pearlised eyeshadow and boy it’s highly pigmented. You will see it in my video how the shade pops on my eyelid.

I created a green smokey eye using the Donna shade along with huda beauty rose gold palette. Instead of a black base, I paired this beautiful green color with brown shades. This look is perfect for a night time glam. See how I turn drab to fab.

Monsoon Makeup | Every Day Makeup

There is a debate that keeps on going on at work and home. “Monsoon is here to stay. Oh wait no, it’s gone. Ah! you spoke too soon. It’s back ” Don’t know what the plan is for monsoon, but I do know, a girl needs to change her makeup routine for this season.

I made a video about my way of dealing with monsoon in terms of my makeup routine. ¬† There is a new trick that I tried in this video and I have been doing it for few days, it is “Powder before foundation” routine. This trick of applying powder before foundation is great for oily skin girls. If you apply powder before foundation

  • your foundation applies matte
  • your face tends to be less oily throughout the day
  • your foundation gets a smoother surface to work with since the translucent powder kind of works like a primer by filling the pores.

In this video you would see that it’s an easy makeup look perfect for an everyday office look or college look.

I hope you enjoy this video.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Review

Foundation is literally the ‘foundation’ for a good makeup base. For this very reason a girl goes on a hunt to find the perfect foundation shade and, mind you, the struggle is real. One also needs to keep in mind that to find the right foundation shade for Indian skin tone is not easy.

Most of the international brands cater to pale to dark skin tones and hardly for olive/brown skin tones. Yet, there are some brands that lay out colors for almost all types of skin tones. One such brand is Maybelline. Maybelline is a drugstore brand that creates amazing products which of course are affordable.

So if you are searching for an amazing affordable foundation for Indian skin tone, reach out for Maybelline Fit Me Foundation.  This drugstore product will steal your heart with one application itself. I have been using the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation for a long time now and this is my third bottle. Fit me range clearly has great products for Indian skin tones.

Maybelline Fit Me foundation 322 Warm Honey

The Maybelline Fit Me foundation claims:

Fit Me Matte + Poreless from Maybelline New York goes beyond skin tone matching to fit the unique texture issues of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural skin fit. While some foundations can exaggerate pores and oily skin, only the FitMe Matte+ pore-minimizing foundation contains genius blurring micro-powders that erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish.

  • Tone + texture-fitting foundation for the ultimate natural fit.
  • This lightweight foundation mattifies and refines pores and leaves a natural, seamless finish.
  • Dermatologist and allergy tested.
  • Does not clog pores. Oil-free.
  • Mattifying liquid formula ideal for normal to oily skin.
  • Non-comedogenic.

My shade for Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is 322 Warm Honey , you can buy it here :

322 Warm Honey is just a perfect shade for me, if anyone is wondering I am a NC 42-44 in Mac fluid foundation.

If you watch my video review you would notice I used a brush which I am totally in love with. You should totally check them out since they are an affordable brush set. The brushes are Cosmix Stores ‚ĄĘ Set of 10 ¬†and you can get it from

Sephora Sheet Mask : First Impressions

Ever happened that you are waiting for a friend at the mall and you have some time to kill? I’m pretty sure, it has happened multiple times, right? During such times, you are around Sephora and you think of checking new stuff out there and eventually end up buying *stuff* you really don’t need. Well, that has happened with me multiple times (some times I regret some times I don’t)

On one such occasion of waiting for a friend I ended up getting myself a Sephora Green Tea Mask. I saw it sitting pretty among other sheet masks in Sephora (they have a good collection of sheet masks) When I read Green Tea , my hands automatically grabbed it because its said “Green Tea” . It’s because green tea is up there when it comes to skincare and any acne prone person would give it it’s due credit.

I have seen zillion of videos and read umpteen blog posts about sheet masks, was always intrigued but never tried it. So this Sephora Green Tea Mask became my first ever sheet mask. Since it was my first try I wanted to do a First Impressions video, which also was my first ever first impressions ( a lot of firsts)

It was a fun thing to do, especially for summer nights a sheet mask seems a great pampering activity. I hope you would check out the video to know about my first impressions of this mask.

Have you tried any Sephora sheet masks?

Effective Acne Mask Aztec Indian Healing Clay

Masks for an acne prone- oily skin means business. For me masks are also stress buster since taking out time from a busy schedule to focus on myself is bliss.
For past 5 years I have suffered from adult-acne which has made me try out numerous amazing and not-so-amazing face masks. Some has helped me tame my skin while some have not done anything or have made my breakouts worse. When you go on a hunt to find out best acne masks you would get tons of options.
Here I’m sharing a mask which is not only overtly hyped but also has truly helped my skin look and feel better.
aztec indian healing clay apple cider vinegar
Aztec Indian healing clay with 100% bentonite clay. I have been using this mask for over 5 months with apple cider vinegar. The mask works best with ACV as the label over the mask says and so have a lot of Youtuber and blogger recommended.
Helps to keep breakouts under control
Huge quantity in one tub which will make it last a long time
Helps to deep cleanse my skin
Leaves my skin smoother after rinsing it off
Can be tedious to rinse off.
I bought this from, you can get it here :

Review: FabIndia Skin Hydrating Cream Vitamin E for Oily Skin

A moisturizer for oily skin is not an easy find. I grew up thinking there is no need for me to apply moisturizer since I have oily skin. However, I was told otherwise and should always use it to keep my skin from over-producing sebum.

While working inside the beauty industry I got to learn a lot from estheticians and make-up artists. One valuable information, that I learnt , which I  would like to share with you is that your skin can be dehydrated even if its oily.

An oily skin means : skin produces extra sebum which is why your face tends to look shiny after a while.

A dehydrated skin means : lack of moisture in your skin.

So you can have an oily and dehydrated skin altogether. This is the combination I suffered with for a while yet I was not aware of it. I have been dealing with dehydrated, oily and acne prone skin which in itself is a deadly combination. #Bummer

After realizing the situation, I tried moisturizers tackling my skin condition. The first that I used was Dermalogica’s Active Moist which I loved and would do a post about it later. Once I got back to India, finding Dermalogica products in Delhi became an issue ( unless I ordered it online). This made me go on a search mode to find the right moisturizer.

Then came along FabIndia for rescue. Skin Hydrating Cream : Vitamin E for Oily Skin. This product is amazing at what it claims. shc fab india

The product claims ‚Äú An extremely light, moisture whipped cream loaded with age controlling cellular extracts and Vitamin E. It nourishes the skin and protects it against moisture loss.‚ÄĚ

Application & Feel

Application & Feel

  • Moisturizes without being too heavy, it is extremely light. However, once applied it takes a minute to soak in the skin completely & leaves no trace.
  • Acne-prone oily skin dreads any moisturizer that could potentially lead into break-outs. This moisturizer has not made my face to be a guesthouse to zits. In short no breakout sessions.¬†
  • It smells great, especially for mornings. It sort of wakes me up.
  • Lasts for more than two months. I apply it morning and night.¬†Time for New one

  • Comes in a tub which means you have to scoop out the product. I would have loved it if it was in a pump bottle.¬†
  • No spf. In today‚Äôs age when we try to have products that do multiple things, this cream would have been a bomb if it provided sun protection. ( Though you would not be able to use it in the night then)

It retails for Rs. 180 for 50 ml and is available in all FabIndia store.

Would I recommend this product to any oily skin twin? YES, I would. Grab this tub and you would love it.

Ice Cube Trick – Acne

A girl who has been suffering with acne for a while must have tried a lot of potions and creams, treatments and remedies, chemicals and natural stuff. You name it and it all will be under the list of “tried stuff”.

That girl in question here is me.

There are few great products and few great home remedies that have helped me tame my acne prone skin. Lately, I have tried a new skin regimen which I feel is helping my skin a lot without taking any oral medication. One of the major help that my skin is getting from is the ICE CUBE REMEDY.

Yes, I have been using this technique for a while and I have noticed a change after every use, especially, the morning after.

The technique is quite simple, all I do is wash my face clean, grab one ice cube and then rub it all over my face in circular motion. I hold the ice cube for couple of more seconds where ever I can feel a new breakout is ‚Äúabout to happen‚ÄĚ or even on areas where there is already a guest sitting.¬†

Any one out there who is suffering from acne, I would highly recommend him/her to try this method and see the results. I have researched a bit over the internet and have found that there are no side effects, however, some did mention that they noticed white heads over their effected area which eventually subsides.

This method is pocket friendly and has great results for absolutely anyone. Acne prone skin or not try this since Ice also helps to tighten your pores and give you firm looking skin.

  • pocket friendly
  • soothes the skin
  • reduces inflammation
  • tightens your pores aka firm skin
  • glowing skin
  • helps to combat acne
  • Helpful for hormonal acne sufferers (like me)

  • Redness right after use (for best results try it before bed time)
  • Whiteheads for some people ( a form of detox they say)

Have you tried Ice cube method before? What has your experience been?

Summer Powder Foundation Routine : Summer Chic

Hey Gorgeous!

Summer calls for a powder foundation routine. There are days when I just don’t feel like applying a creamy foundation and like to have something light weight. Those days I grab my Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder to help my skin look better than it actually is.

powder foundation blog

The product comes in a compact tub which has a “shaver” that scrapes out the product once you twist it. A pretty cool way to get my freshly milled power out. I really love this product because it does not break me out, helps to cover my blemishes and also helps in keeping me oil free for few hours.

Having an acne prone skin and oily skin sucks but you got to deal with what you have right?

I have uploaded my demo video on my youtube channel so you can see how I apply this foundation.

Have you tried this foundation? Which is your favorite powder foundation?

Please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel.

Bloopers – Youtube Edition

Hey Lovelies,

While I write on my blog I have the freedom to use backspace and type again. This actually helps me to forget about my silly goof-ups in the long run.

BUT, while filming I can go back to the unedited version and see how I fumbled at a particular point. This is exactly what happened and I complied some of them in a video. Hope you will have a good laugh *at my expense* lol.

Mini M.A.C store rant + Mini NewU Haul

Hello Gorgeous!

As the title suggests, it a rant and a haul. So here goes the story:

I went to the mall with the sole aim of drooling over and purchasing the Cinderella collection from M.A.C. But guess what happened! I was told this collection was not released in India and will not be since “they” think it will not be good for Indian skin tone.

WHAT – Are you kidding me? Let the bazillion girls in India decide if it will suit them or not. You should have got some of it and then should have seen how the sales were doing. Only thing an Indian girl residing in India will do is ask her friends to grab it for her from elsewhere. (MAC India read this as giving your sales to another country.. GRRR)

I was so mad that I did not buy anything from M.A.C. even though I heard few lipsticks calling my name  *Ashaaaa Take me, Take me*

Eventually I headed to a much humble abode of drugstore makeup – NewU. I bought few products from there, some of them were tried and tested by me before and some were new ( read impulse purchase)

So here are my picks –

new u info

Maybelline Baby Lips – Tried and tested before

baby lips

This is my 4th tube which I will end up using till its last breath. This stuff is the best lip balm available in the market. The pop of color that it gives me is perfect. Once I apply this to my bare lips it makes them look a nicer version of my own, so it is great for a “no makeup look” days.¬†Rps 150 for 4.5 g

L’oreal Colour Protect Protecting Shampoo – Tried and tested before

This is my second shampoo bottle after getting my hair colored for the third time ( makes sense?). Last time when I got my hair colored I picked up this shampoo along with a conditioner from same line. Both together were good enough to keep my new hair color happy and intact for a long time. The conditioner did a great job to keep the “oh bit damaged” hair strands conditioned. I wanted to grab the conditioner along with this shampoo but NewU did not have any left with them – bummer!¬†Rs. 145 for 175ml

Lakmé Eyeconic Green Impulse purchase

Spring is here and this required me to get some pop of color in my makeup bag, yet again. Yes, I need more of those colorful liners – black doesn’t do justice for everyday. This liner is amazing but it’s not smudge proof, so an oily lid or a sweaty day would ruin the look ( Hello Summer). Getting back to its plus points the product has a great color pay off and I love this emerald-green shade. It will suit indian skin tone / olive skin tone beautifully.¬†Rs. 250 for .35 g

Beauty Formulas Tea Tree Wipes – Impulse purchase

tea tree

Well, this one I got just because it said “beauty formulas” and “Tea Tree” in the same package. Any acne prone human being will support ¬†tea tree just the way an indian cricket fan supports India during a match. It’s like you have an immense faith in this ingredient which is similar to the faith bestowed on those 11 players on the field. Getting back to its plus points, these wipes are great to wipe away your makeup but you still need to wash your face before hitting the bed. I know it’s a task which every lazy girl hates but an acne prone girl just can take that risk, so i always try to wash my face no matter what. These wipes smell lovely to me since I love the main ingredient and it sort of refreshes my face.¬†Rs. 229 for 30 wipes

So basically, M.A.C Cinderella collection helped me save a lot of money ūüôā but I am still mad since I couldn’t get to play with it :(.

Have you tried any of these above products or the gorgeous Cinderella collection ?
